VARIETY: Special Large Chickpea
ORIGIN: MEXICO
Special large chickpea is similar to Extra Large chickpea because of its size; this is the biggest chickpea produced in Mexico. It has a big round grain, wrinkled skin and light color, sometimes white.  It is ideal for winter dishes, and also for cold salads with vegetables.
The consumption of this legume is highly recommended for their high nutritional value. Chick-peas give us a lot of slow absorption carbohydrates, are rich in proteins, minerals, iron and fiber and contain less saturated fat. In Spain they are used in a typical dish called chick-peas with tripe.
